Question by William C: How do you feel about someone hosting a ‘light-skin’ party?
I heard someone in Detroit is hosting a party called the Light Skin Party. Needless to say, the club got numerous phone calls objecting to the idea saying that it’s a way of segregation within the culture i.e. light-skin vs. dark skin. People also reference this party with the “Doll Test” (black children choosing white dolls because they think white dolls are ‘pretty and good’).

So, how do you feel about a party dedicated to light-skinned black women?
